Green Arches Anyone?

The FaceShop's Automatic Eyebrow Pencil in Brown

here is a picture of me using FaceShop's Automatic Eyebrow Pencil in brown

I over plucked my eyebrows in high school because everyone had barely there brows in the inner city public school I went to during my freshman year. It was peer pressure! and some parts of my eyebrows the hairs never grew back the same way, therefore I had to compromise and fill them in with an eyebrow pencil. I wanted a pencil, powder, wax that could last the whole day with me and not come off mid day. I have tried all kinds of products from the waterproof to the long lasting or so these products claim. It wasn't until I walked in a not yet known store of Korean beauty products 2 years ago called The Faceshop that I found the perfect eyebrow pencil for me the automatic eyebrow pencil, it comes in dark brown, brown, taupe and black. It's double ended. One end has the liner which you can just twist up and the other end has the eyebrow spooley or brush for blending. It's powder and wax liner rolled into one therefore creating long lasting and sweat proof eyebrows. It is also environmentally friendly! when the product runs out you can buy a refill. Available at The Faceshop branches nationwide. Retail price P225 refill P95

DuWop's Bronzerush

I used DuWop's Bronzerush in August on this model for a fashion show

Looking pale? Want that all year long summer glow? I know I do. DuWop's Bronzerush in August addresses that for me. It comes in a sleek gold campact with the bronzing powder on the left side and a translucent gel blush on the right. I dust the bronzing powder all over my face for that summer glow and the gel blush on the apple of my cheeks for that pop of color. I even got it on sale at Beauty Bar. cost : P750 from original price of P2,150.

Hi- Def Make Up

Make Up Forever HD Microfinish Powder

Who doesn't like HD or High Definition ( TV) these days? It seems more and more broadcasts are on HD. And why not? the resolution is more clearer, crisper and the color more life like but it has a down side, everything is magnified ( yes even those fine lines and pores). When I worked on a noontime show early this year I would always check the monitor and was never happy with the outcome of my subjects' foundation. I was on the lookout for a miracle product that would minimize pores, make skin porcelain smooth without the weight and cake-iness of dual powder foundation. The only solution is to airbrush but airbrush foundation can be very expensive. So, I wanted an alternative, no fuss product to set my concealer and foundation and at the same time give me the flawless look. I didn't know they made HD make up till I visited the Sephora site. I got this baby and tried it out. I like the way it doesn't go into fine lines and crevices on the skin therefore making it a flawless finish. It's invincible to HD cameras making it picture perfect all the time. There's a whole product line which I'll be itching to try. Visit www.sephora.com

My Malacanang Experience

Malacanang Palace holds so much of our history. I was in awe while I walked through the residential halls. I would have loved to go to every room but it's restricted. I was invited to the Palace to lend my makeup services to some members of the first family for an Independence Day celebration. Politics aside, The Arroyo's are wonderful people right down to the President's grandchildren who were very smart and quite the conversationalists. My favorite was 5 year old Evie the daughter of Dato and Kakai Arroyo who loves curly hair and pink lipstick so, we got along well perfectly. Not everyone has a chance to see this grand palace and I consider myself lucky to have gotten such a prestigious gig. Let me share a few stolen shots from my blackberry.
beautiful paintings on walls

colored glass sky light ( below this was a courtyard that had a garden)

red carpeted hallways

beautiful chandeliers adorned every room

framed maps of the Philippines

painting of former first lady Imelda Marcos on the right ( I think)

MAC Just A Pinch Gel Blush

My fetish with stain/gel blushers started with The Body Shop's cheek stain, BeNefit's Benetint and ended up with Smashbox's O Glow. I know the Tarte gel blushes where a cult fave but I never did like them because it never stayed put on my face. So,I was just the happy makeup diva that I am when MAC released their "A Rose Romance Collection". The collection had a godsend product. It's called the Just A Pinch Gel Blush ( really,a pinch is all you need ) finally a GEL blush that actually looked good and stayed on my cheeks until I took it off. So, if you're looking for that natural flushed look that can last all day ? try it out at your nearest MAC makeup counters. But hurry, these babies are flying off the shelves, so grab yours NOW !
