She

The emptiness that I feel inside
Doesn't have words that I can describe
The loneliness I feel throughout
It was her fault without a doubt

Because I don't forget anything
Nothing’s alright

I don't know how I'll feel today or tomorrow
‘Cause every other day is a day I feel sorrow.

I needed...

A kiss to make me feel better
A hug to comfort me
A touch to reassure me
A smile to remind me that I 'm loved for always

A promise that you will be there for me...

but why is there this empty part in my heart where your love should be?

My Ride with D

3 years ago this month I started a career that I continue to love so passionately. I have always wanted to express how thankful I am that I'm in a very artistically rewarding and creative career because of the help of a person who believed I had what it takes to make it in the industry. I have always had the passion to go after what I wanted even if it meant failing. So, I decided to leap. After almost 10 years in the retail industry I gave up my retail career and went for the career that I dreamed of ..make up artistry. I emailed established make up artists in the industry at that time and only ONE replied.. Denise Go. My first experience apprenticing was a television commercial for SMART Communications. I was so scared and intimidated with the advertising world that my knees were shaking. Denise was friendly and she gave me pointers. She gave me a model to do and I was surprised she gave me the task to do on my own. After the shoot she then pointed out the things I could improve on. Denise claims that she can't teach but I think she's a great teacher. She never held my hand or instructed me how to do any specific thing. She let me observe and ask questions, she told me who to watch out for, she introduced me to the people that mattered and she always introduced me as a co-make up artist and never as an apprentice. Her way of training was exactly what I needed. There was a time I stepped on a few toes and I didn't want to apologize because I stood by my opinion. I remember her telling me sternly " Mitch, it doesn't matter if you think you're right, you are starting a career where you need these people to like YOU, for them to HIRE you" it took a few minutes to sink in. I realized she was right. The path of my career wouldn't have been the same without her. I do not claim to have had it made because I'm still a struggling freelance make up artist but now I feel that I am armed and equipped with the knowledge that will help me survive this industry, anywhere in the world. Thanks D... looking forward to our future "rides".

(I started to write this blog entry August of this year but hesitated to post it without the proper time spent to finish it and collect the pictures ( I stole from facebook hehehe). Voila! I finally finished it)

Clear Out!

I'm back!! with some great products to rave about. We all know that the key to flawless makeup is clear skin. A smooth base for foundation application makes it look more natural because there isn't anything to cover up, but then again clear skin only exists in a perfect world. Everyone gets pimples, blackheads and whiteheads, so the key is prevention. I've been using L'Oreal Pure Zone Deep Clarifying Facial Wash ,Deep Purifying Toner and Clearasil Tinted Acne Treatment Cream for over a month now and I'm happy with the results. I have oily/combination skin and I suffer from chin breakouts the most (ugh!) it got to a point that I was already seeing a dermatologist (we know how pricey that can be). I am happy to say I haven't seen my dermatologist in a month because my breakouts are no more! thanks to my new found skin care regiment.

**If you over use acne and oily skin care products result is over dried skin, so it's better to always use such products in moderation. If you find that your skin is drying out, instead of everyday use, use it every other day.

Step 1: I use it with a buff puff or facial brush for deeper cleaning. It leaves a cool clean feeling after every wash.

Step 2 : Moisten a cotton pad and wipe upwards and see the makeup and dirt that washing left behind.

Step 2 1/2 : my night/day time treatment for prevention of breakouts. 10% benzoyl peroxide is the best for treating moderate breakouts. I love it because it's tinted, so it's discreet.
step 3: I love how this moisturizer feels so light it's just like water. Once I put it on, my skin absorbs it very quickly.
